Only hours before Los Angeles Angels Pitcher Nick Adenhart was in top form as he struck out 5 hitters in 6 innings against the Oakland A’s. But last night, TMZ reports that he was fatally killed in a felony hit and run accident in Fullerton, California.
The 22 year old talented pitcher with a bright future ahead of him, was driving his Mitsubishi vehicle when Cops said that an unidentified person drove through a red light, causing his vehicle to hit a light pole. Along with Adenhart, there were three other persons in the Mitsubishi. Three were killed in the car crash, while the fourth person remains in critical condition in the hospital.
Cops say someone driving a minivan blew through a red light, causing the Mitsubishi that Adenhart and three others were riding in to hit a light pole. Three of the four people in the Mitsubishi were killed in the crash — Nick, another man and a woman — while the fourth person remains in the hospital.
The suspect was found and remains in police custody at this time. At only 22 years old, this Maryland native made his MLB debut on May 1, 2008 and last night’s game was his fourth Major League start.
