Britney Spears might be making a comeback but whether it’s a publicity stunt, a mental breakdown, or a genuine mishap she just doesn’t seem to know how to stay out of the drama club. Her latest headline-making event happened on her current Circus tour during a concert in Vancouver, when Britney abruptly walked off stage after performing just 3 songs and left the audience sitting in bewilderment (and in the dark) for more than 30 minutes.
The reason? Apparently there was so much smoke in the air (from the audience, not the concert equipment) that the show just couldn’t go on. After the sold out crowd had finally had enough of no concert and no explanation they started booing, prompting an announcer to come on and explain that the show would resume as soon as the stage area cleared up, asking everybody to put their cigarettes out and saying “It’s become uncomfortable and unsafe for the performers, including Ms. Spears.”
Reps for Britney later issued an apology to all the concertgoers in a statement on her blog, using the phrases “brief pause” and “ventilation issue.” There was apparently not, however, any kind of refund or rain check issued.
Yeah, sounds a little suspicious Britney. Just can’t get enough of the negative attention or what?
