Miley Cyrus stars in the much anticipated “Hannah Montana: The Movie” which opens today, in theaters nationwide. Likely to be the box office winner this weekend, “Hannah Montana: The Movie” has more influence on young girls then any other popular media I’ve ever seen in my life. The sheer volume of fans behind Miley Cyrus and her hit Disney show is one for the record books.
Debuting in 2006, the show revolves around a normal teenage girl who also happens to be the famous pop star “Hannah Montana.” The daughter of country pop superstar Billy Ray Cyrus (who plays Hannah Montana’s father in the show), in real life, carries much of the same qualities as the fictitious Hannah Montana she portrays on the show.
At only 16, Miley Cyrus has created a fan base bigger than the Olson twins and Lindsay Lohan combined. Her merchandise, including lunch boxes, toys, clothing and accessories are everywhere and making her a mini-mogul in her own right. “Hannah Montana: The Movie” is expected to do amazing numbers this weekend, which shouldn’t be too difficult based on the fact that the show scored 5.4 million viewers during its season premiere last November.
