I guess Madonna is trying to create her London lifestyle in New York? She just paid $40 million for a new townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It is a beautiful Georgian-style, four-story town home off of 81st Street, between Lexington and Third Avenue.

That’s actually one of my favorite areas in Manhattan. Lexington Avenue starting in the 60s all the way up to 96th Street has some of the best little boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Also, all those streets have some of the nicest townhouses that are typical brownstones, with that classic Georgian-style that is very reminiscent of London town homes.

Although, on Madonna’s particular street it has been said that you can feel the subway underneath, which cannot be very pleasant. However, obviously other people have lived in that particular home and live on those streets, so it cannot be that bad. Not to mention, the townhouse has 12,000 square feet, 26 rooms including 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, 9 fireplaces, an elevator, a wine cellar, and a 3,000 square foot garden.

It is also rumored that Madonna wants to look for a “English-style” country home in the East end of Long Island or some where in Westchester. I’m sure she will find something fabulous in that area, because NY state has some beautiful areas that do have the same flare as the English country side in Britain.

Welcome back to NY Madge!

It just makes me want to cry when I read how much MONEY the elite spend on, yet another home. We work so hard to feed our children and pay for our modest home, some days not leaving the house once home for fear we won't be able to afford gas to get to work all week. Doesn't seem fair does it?

Charlie, If it doesn't seem fair then go earn more money. Go to a better school and get a better job. Adam
