Pantene is my favorite standby shampoo that I’ve used since I was in middle school.  Its a stalwart of drugstores across the world for its reliability, pleasant smell, and ability to leave you with clean hair with touch of softness and healthy shine.

And I’m also a fan of the Bravo show, “Top Chef,” with its looming culinary challenges, creative ways to cook, and of course, the fabulous model/author/cook Padma Lashki.  I’ve always admired her glowing skin and shiny hair, so it was not surprising when I learned that she’s the spokesmodel for the new line of Pantene Haircare called “Nature Fusion.” This line boasts a new ingredient of the cassia plant which has conditioning properties that, when developed as a shampoo, will add these softening qualities to hair.

Dr. Jeni Thomast, a Senior Pantene Scientist, says, “What makes cassia so great in our shampoos is its conditioning abilities. Pantene science has found a way to harness this property to create a shield that leaves hair naturally radiant and protected.”

So, I decided to try out this new shampoo/conditioner for about a week.  I found that I really enjoyed the botanical, pleasant scent and thought that the two products did a good job at keeping my hair looking soft and clean.  But, I didn’t see a huge difference with the normal Pantene products and this new “Nature Fusion” line.  As usual, the packaging looks inviting/attractive, but when it comes down to it, it works just like the normal Pantene haircare.

My advice: Keep what works and if you want a different scent, try the new line.
