Not much seems to be going right for Jessica Simpson. First, her failed marriage to Nick Lachey, then being scrutinized about her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and then she was all over the tabloids for her weight. Now it seems her attempt at a singing career in Country is diminishing.
Jessica is part of the Sony Music Group on the Epic label. For her move into Country, she was working with Sony’s Country division, Sony Music Nashville. However, rumor has it she is no longer working with them. It seems there is nothing on the horizon for Jessica and it looks like she is taking a break to figure out her next move.
Some people believe that the tabloid news constantly surrounding her cast a dark cloud on her and any success for a blossoming career in Country. The truth of the matter is her music was not resonating with that demographic. Not to mention, to be successful in country it’s not about being a pop princess, it’s about rolling up your sleeves and getting to work. It’s about spending your life on the road and building an audience. I don’t think she had it in her.

I didn’t even know she was trying to be a country singer now. I kind of feel sorry for her, because after that whole weight gain thing she kinda disappeared again.
