The French issue of ELLE is going to run an issue with a series of cover models wearing absolutely no make-up. None.
Famous names taking part include Eva Herzigova, Monica Belluci, Sophie Marceau, and Charlotte Rampling. And although I think it’s a wonderful idea, after seeing the photographs I can’t help but wonder if ‘no retouching or airbrushing’ was also part of the deal? These ladies don’t look nearly as blotchy or uneven as I’d hoped they would! Not that I wish ugliness on anybody, but I also know what I look like sans makeup and somehow I still feel a little inadequate after looking at them. Even all plain they look so beautiful! No blemishes and no dark circles?
I’m not sure now if it really is simple genetics or if this is all just a very smart marketing ploy designed to sell magazines and get positive press… Maybe ELLE really did the right thing and simply chose women with great skin and made sure they got a full night’s sleep the day before the shoot, or maybe they airbrushed to their heart’s content to make them all look awesome per the usual for glossy cover shots. What do you think?

This was such a good idea! I'm so happy that they're letting there really beauty show.
