As our Economic landscape seems to change everyday, it’s quite obvious that doom and gloom seems to be the name of the game. Well, I beg to differ. I think that you have to find things to be happy and positive about, including lip gloss. You’ve heard about the “lipstick” effect that as fortunes fall, women buy more and more lipstick because we have to cut back on other fun purchases like shoes and clothes.
Well, how about the “Lip Gloss Effect?” I’ve always been more partial to lip gloss which can be looked down upon by those in high fashion for having more of a teen girl appeal. But no, these days, there are tons of lip glosses that mix color, sheen, and durability (actually stays on!). And this is a splurge that any gal can afford! Here are my top picks.
Givenchy Pop Gloss- ($24) This lip gloss is divine, stays put, and comes in fruity colors. It promises to ” pulsate shine, outrageous volume, and energize sparkle.” Simply put, this is a must for your makeup bag.
Tarte Vitamin- Infused Lipgloss ($21) This lip gloss is not only glossy and makes your lips pop, but also contains grape seed extract, Vitamin A and C, and antixoidants. Oh, and Acai, an Amazonian fruit which is one of the most powerful superfoods there is!
Body Shop Sheer Lip Shine ($14.50) This amazing product uses marula oil from Namibia to keep lips soft, along with Meadowfoam seed oil. It does a good job at keeping color on your lips and just enough shine for an evening out.
Neutrogena Moisture Shine Lip Gloss (Under $10) This product does a good job at keeping color and shine on your lips. You do need to reapply often, but for under ten bucks, it’s a steal!
