Twitter founder Evan Williams will be on Oprah today along with the “King of Twitter” Ashton Kutcher, who recently gained over 1 million followers. On the flip side, @Oprah is now on Twitter and will be making her first tweet during her broadcast. Thanks to the real-time of Twitter and the early recording of the show we were able to get our hands on the first tweet by Oprah: “HI TWITTERS . THANK YOU FOR A WARM WELCOME. FEELING REALLY 21st CENTURY.”
Oprah seems to be embracing Twitter and so do her followers. At the time of this post she’s already at 104,000 followers and she only has 9 updates. That’s pretty amazing. She’s also following fellow twitter celebrities including, Demi Moore, Shaq and Jimmy Fallon. With Oprah’s already established worldwide following and influence, I would not be surprised to see her surpass Ashton Kutcher in a few weeks as the “Queen of Twitter.”
Evan Williams, who you rarely hear about in the media, was excited to talk to Oprah and revealed to his Twitter followers yesterday that today would be a big day. Being that Twitter has already garnered such a huge following, it will be interesting to see how much of an impact the Oprah Show will have on this internet mammoth.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Twitter is growing everyday and Oprah is the most powerful woman in the world!
