We love watching Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” as she tries to figure out her issues with her mother, her status as a sweet but neurotic surgical intern, and of course, her hot boyfriend, Dr. Derek Shepherd at the Seattle Grace hospital. Well, in real life, Pompeo is well-adjusted and happily married to Chris Ivery, a music producer, who is also from her native city of Boston.
Ellen Pompeo came to Los Angeles to pursue acting and soonafter, she booked roles in films such as “Moonlight Mile,” “Daredevil,” and the ever-popular comedy, “Old School.”
Pompeo met Ivery at a Whole Foods grocery store before finding out that they share the same Boston roots and have been a couple ever since. The two wed in a quiet ceremony in New York in November of 2007. News broke that she recently became pregnant with their first child and has been seen shopping around Los Angeles for baby gear.
People reports that Pompeo’s rep confirms that she is indeed pregnant. Allen says, “It’s great news. They’re ecstatic.” In other baby news, Chyler Leigh, who plays Meredith’s younger sister, Lexie Grey, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” is expecting her third child in May. It sounds like the stork is making a lot of visits to Seattle Grace.
