Perez Hilton was a judge for the Miss USA pagent, held last night in Las Vegas.

He twittered his way through the pageant, with little tidbits such as, “We already had one minor slip! LOVE it! Wouldn’t it be hot if a girl puked out of excitement? That’d be a first! Ha!”and “I definitely have some clear front-runners in my mind! And 1 girl is really standing out!”

However, one contestant got more than she bargained for after pissing off Forbes’ #1 Web Celebrity and Gossip Blogger, Perez Hilton.  Before the pageant even aired, thousands of people on the internet saw Miss California’s faux pas, and Perez did not hold back.

As a judge, he prepared a question to ask the contestant that drew his name during the always hilarious question and answer round.  Miss California, Carrie Prejean, chose Perez’s name and he asked her about whether other states should allow same sex marriage, now that Vermont has made it legal.  Well, she flubbed around and then stated her belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman.  Hmmmm, everyone is definitely entitled to their views, however you probably don’t want to tell a very openly gay judge that you don’t support his lifestyle…. if you want to win the pageant that is!

Not only did Miss California not win the pageant (she was 1st runner up, Miss North Carolina was the winner), but her comments garnered boos from some in the audience, led to a shouting match in the lobby after the show, and has already prompted two vlogs from Perez Hilton.

Perez’s anger carried into his tweets for the rest of the night, he ended with this one, “I’d rather be fugly (and fat) than go through my life a pea-brained moron. Pretty fades, stoopid is forever!”

Uhhh, I bet Miss California is wishing she just fell during the swimsuit competition, this feud could get real ugly!!

I guess you’re not allowed to be a Christian and win the Miss USA. I hope she sues since the only reason she lost was due to Hilton’s anti-Christian bigotry.

  2. Steve – April 20, 2009 - 12:47 pm

Prejean may not be Miss America, but at least she’s not a bitter, ugly, pathetic, mincing homosexual with less than zero fashion sense. So I’d say on the whole she won that battle.

As for Hilton calling her names, I can think of all sorts of names for that fat repulsive penis-enjoying misfit with the ill-fitting jacket… but I’ll keep the rest of them to myself.

  3. Steve – April 20, 2009 - 12:49 pm

    Sorry, I meant “Miss USA.”

Hilton is the one who isn’t Miss America.

Freedom of speech is up for debate in this country. Pro-gay and pro-left and you are fine. The young lady gave an answer from her heart and what she believes and then attacked by Perez.
She is the clear winner and I wish her the best. She doesn’t need Perez as a role model.

  5. Chris – April 20, 2009 - 3:42 pm

I believe gays have the right to get married, that being said I don’t think her opinion should be shit on like this. I respect her honesty, very unfortunate. Backlash forthcoming.

Last time I checked, we live in a democracy where each individual of this country can share an opinion without the fear of ridicule. Apparently Mr. Perez, and many others, feel an opposing opinion is free game for a personal attack to discredit, degrade, and even harm a person. This is nothing more than discrimination in its purest form.

  7. Bravo Carrie – April 20, 2009 - 8:11 pm

Mario (Perez), more of America is with Carrie’s viewpoint than yours learn a lesson and move on. Carrie, you are a class act, congratulations on the bigger win last night.

  8. Chris – April 20, 2009 - 8:55 pm

I bet $100 that Jo and Bravo Carrie are the same person, who is misguided in believing that most Americans agree with Miss California btw…

  9. M. Funk – April 20, 2009 - 9:45 pm

Ah, mr, ms, miss Hilton… who is the bigger B ***H here!
Not many Americans care about your “bedroom habits” except those who are homosexual so get a life.
Bravo for Miss California! She doesn’t need to pretend she is “normal” or abnormal. God Bless you “Perez”! She already is.

Does Perez Hilton think anyone who was opposed to gay marriage before is going to help a minority population get this legalized now? He called her a word that you DO NOT call a woman if you are a politically correct man in this nation. Miss USA is privately owned, unfortunately, so Trump’s pageant can’t get sued for sexist discrimination and harassment, but I hope the good people of the USA pile on Perez.

Who IS this horrid little man, anyways? Nothing but a gossip blogger? I’ve never heard of the twerp before this pageant!

  11. Ann – April 21, 2009 - 1:49 am

Forgot to add, if anyone wants to help fight anti-free speech and freedom of conscience issues, please, forget Perez and donate money here…

    http://www.thefire.org

Oh, it’s even more horrid what they’re doing to Christian students and the others who are politically incorrect. They’re trying to harass them into agreement, or else they try to expel them from the schools, or at the very least get them “written up” for something.

At Northwestern University, they wrote up some Objectivist Club for something stupid, but yet when a transsexual filed a complaint about alleged research misconduct by the psych department chair, oh my God, they were all running around launching full investigations. When was the last time anyone launched an investigation into anti-Christian bigotry on a campus or in Hollywood? Please.

Good luck getting gay marriage accepted now. Yes, calling a woman a “dumb *****” is really helping you fascist gays out a heckuvalot, right? (not that all gays are fascist, but Perez seems to enjoy using his power position as a judge to ruin a nice girl’s career over her just being honest).

  12. Stephen – April 21, 2009 - 9:00 am

I’d never heard of “Perez Hilton” before. All I know now is that he insults women. Not only is the woman he denied the title Miss America to a “bitch” but he thinks it would be “hot” if a “girl” puked. Evidently he is unaware the contestants were women. I don’t classify people I don’t know as a bitch … but I will say that “Perez Hilton” or whatever his name is has set the cause of respect for gay people back a couple of decades.

wow, crazy that people wanting equal rights leads to so much hate, we haven’t advanced very far over the past 50 years, sad :(

  14. miss california sucks – April 21, 2009 - 7:53 pm

uhh perez hilton is the #1 blogger on the web, tv star and the most well known celeb gossip gangsta around. who the hell is this miss california? listen missy, cali is a democratic, liberal, gay loving state, gay marriage supporting state – you might have a better chance at miss utah. to the lame asses that are acting like they don’t know who perez hilton is, pull your head out of the 90’s.

  15. Antoine – April 22, 2009 - 5:21 pm

Hilton is wrong, pure and simple. The woman was asked a question, and she expressed her personal opinion, which is our right to do in this country. Hilton claimed her answer caused her to lose the beauty contest. If that’s the case, then Hilton should be removed as a judge because he obviously can’t be objective and unbiased.
Why is some gay guy a judge in a woman’s beauty contest anyway?
Hilton is an idiot, pure and simple

  16. daymx – April 22, 2009 - 5:28 pm

Most Americans, not many, most believe and agreed with what she had to say about marriage being between man and woman. Perez is an ugly example of what California has become

Miss California deserved the crown of Ms America, she was and is an outstanding and beautiful woman. With any luck, Perez will choke on the next wad of semen he ingests !

  18. Annie – April 22, 2009 - 5:42 pm

Regardless of what the woman said, she spoke her true opinion, aware that not everyone shares that opinion. That is character – it’s what we want our kids to do – be true to themselves and able to speak their opinion, while being respectful to those who think differently.

I think what Mr. Hilton said was very rude, and to react to a question obviously meant to stir up controversy in such a way makes him look small and snotty.

Neither person represents everyone similar to them. This woman was cool. This man was not. It’s almost as if he’s caught in “baby” gay mode. When my brother came out, he went through a “baby” gay stage where he was snotty, insulting to women & “breeders”.. but then he grew up and out of that “baby gay” stage. Get on with it already or get a private job that doesn’t allow you to embarrass yourself this way.

  19. Xtyna – April 23, 2009 - 2:46 am

To Perez: Don’t you know that what you did wasn’t helpful for the gay community? You embarrassed and humiliated them. You’re the one who’s selfish and discriminating people here, not the other way around.

People, like everyone else had said in this thread, are entitled to their own opinion. There are at least 6 billion people in the whole world, not everyone would agree with what you believe in. Miss California, clearly stated, “No offense to anybody out there but that’s how I was raised…” She only speaks for what she believes in. I look up to her, because she chose to stand up for what she believes in than to kiss Hilton’s ass and win the crown.

  20. mio – April 23, 2009 - 10:00 am

I think we’ve gotten away from the fact that, regardless of her opinion on this matter, she didn’t answer the question very well. She was asked a question and she gave the answer someone else (her parents) told her to give. The way she answered seemed to indicate that she hadn’t given the subject any thought and had no intention of doing so, either.

That, in my opinion, is what we should all be worried about: someone who blindly follows.

(note: I’m not saying these aren’t her true beliefs, or that she is blindly following someone, I’m saying that the way she answered the question indicates those things, thus she gave a poor answer.)

  21. Nomad – April 23, 2009 - 7:15 pm

apparently someone never told Perez Hilton that “beauty comes from the inside”

  22. Michael – May 1, 2009 - 10:03 am

miss california sucks, If perez hilton is what Cali is about you guys can keep it! I have friends that are gay and have nothing against it untill people like perez act like if you don’t agree with them you are all the names he called that woman! I am sorry but maybe his parents should have raised him with a little bit of respect and dignity! She did not start bashing gays, she simply stated what SHE believed in and that IS HER RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN!!!!! Tell Perez to leave that woman alone and get over yourselves and quite acting like your on the rag!
