I know, I know. Summer’s coming up fast and you’re still trying to fit into that new swimsuit, but hey, free ice cream is free ice cream — always worth it. Plus a little splurge here and there helps to keep us away from that big splurge that really does damage.

Now, to the news — it is Ben & Jerry’s 31st annual Free Cone Day! Today from Noon to 8:00 p.m. all participating stores are giving away free scoops of ice cream. No need for a coupon either. Just show up and pick your favorite flavor. Very simple!

As a part of the day’s festivities, Ben & Jerry’s will also be releasing three new flavors. The first is Chocolate Macadamia. A part of their values-led flavor campaign, the Chocolate Macadamia features Fair Trade vanilla and chocolate as well as sustainably-harvested macadamia nuts. Then there’s also Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road (chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks) and Orange & Cream (sorbet of orange with vanilla ice cream).

I’m thinking I’ll try out the Orange & Cream. What flavor are you planning to get? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. The Chocolate Macadamia sounds really good. Or maybe the Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Sooo good!

  2. Heyy
Is this a Yearly thing or what cuz I’m lovin’ it eather way.
    Someone please tell me.

  3. The Ben & Jerry’s near me in Burbank CA charges $4.50 a scoop. It’s ICE CREAM, not gold. I resent being gouged to pay for their philanthropy. Getting B&J ice cream free is the ONLY way I’ll go into their store.

  4. Cece, it’s a yearly thing. They’ve been doing it for 31 years now.

  5. I had the Orange and Cream (it’s new in 2009, I think). Loved it!
