Philip Markoff – better known as the “craigslist killer” – is in court today on charges of murder, kidnapping and gun possession. But it’s not just his lawyer speaking towards his defense. His 22-year-old fiance, Megan McAllister, is too. In an email read on ABC’s Good Morning America, McAllister said of Markoff that “he wouldn’t hurt a fly” and that he “is a beautiful man inside and out…the best fiance a woman could ask for.” She thinks the police have the wrong man.
In case you’re out of the loop, Philip Markoff is accused of killing Julissa Brisman at a luxury hotel in Boston last Tuesday. Brisman, 26, who was a professional masseuse, had been contacted by Markoff through Craigslist for a massage. However, when Markoff showed up he shot Brisman instead. He was caught byh the hotel’s security cameras.
Markoff is also being charged for a robbery and kidnapping that also occurred through Craigslist. Police believe the crimes had to do with gambling debts. When arrested they found guns in his house.
Megan McAllister still plans to marry Philip in August.
