During the 2009 Miss USA competition, Miss Arizona confused the audience and everybody watching on television when she gave one of the most confusing, head scratching and non-answers ever. When asked by SNL comedian Keenan Thompson if she believed universal health care should be the right of every American citizen she responded with: “You know what, I think this is an issue of integrity, regardless of which end of the political spectrum I stand on.”
She then went on to say “I’ve been raised in a family to know right from wrong and politics whether or not you fall in the middle, the left or the right, its an issue of integrity…and I say that with the utmost conviction.” Now I understand these contestants aren’t politicians, but at least form an answer that shows actual thought. It felt like she had an automatic answer to any question that mentioned the word politics.
This year’s Miss USA competition gained a lot of popularity after the whole Perez Hilton, Miss California feud. With almost 2 million hits on YouTube, this year’s competition may have been the most successful ever.

I think she had planned on using that answer for Any question she was asked. She probably doesn’t even know what universal healthcare implies.
