I’m a big fan of the whole online shopping thing (I even order pizza online instead of calling) but does it make sense to order everything online? What’s good to shop for on the internet and what’s better when picked out in person? Here’s a quick guide, plus feel free to leave your experiences and opinions in the comments.
BUY ONLINE
Contacts Once you’ve seen the optometrist and gotten a prescription there’s any number of companies that will ship sealed, from-the-factory, brand name contact lenses right to your door, often without charging for shipping.
Books, DVDs, and CDs They are what they are, there’s really no room for error unless you order the wrong title.
Clothing Once you know what size you wear in any given brand (it might help to hit the mall once first to do some trying on) you can often find great deals online and get free shipping.
BUY IN PERSON
Furniture Couches, loveseats, and chairs should always be purchased in person so you can actually sit on them first. They aren’t cheap and you’ll have them for a long time, so comfort is important.
Dinnerware Besides the fact that dinnerware is heavy and more difficult/expensive to ship, you’ll want to see it in person before buying so you can handle it and judge the weight and size of things like soup spoons, dinner plates, etc.
Prescription medications Need we explain? The risk just isn’t worth it.

i’d avoid any really big purchases. like a car, a home, or even a nice computer.
but that’s just me
I agree with not buying cars and homes online, but I ordered my computer online (direct from Apple) and it was easy and convenient and just what I wanted!
As far as softwares and applications are concerned, once can first download the free trial first and then probably buy the software if she/he likes it. http://bit.ly/OxdIK – You can download the $223 worth VSTS, free trial from here..
