Kristin Stewart

Kristin Stewart, the star of “Twilight,” the Teen vampire flick based on Stephenie Meyer’s book series that beat expectations last November with a record $70.5 million box office opening, a first for a female director, Catherine Hardwicke.  It had teen girls and young women everywhere waiting in long lines to see the film, and also re-watching the film which upped ticket sales.

“Twilight,” also made instant stars of Kristin Stewart who plays Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson who portrays Edward Cullen, the Vampire who struggles between his identity and his love for Bella.  Soonafter, the next film in the series, “New Moon,” was greenlit almost immediately.

Stewart, who next stars in “Adventureland,” spoke to the Los Angeles Times about her continuation of her role as Bella in “New Moon.” Regarding the character of Bella, she says, “”She grows up, quite a bit. She’s forced to, and she’s got strength
and inner determination. A lot of people in her situation would be
like, OK, done.”

Stewart also states that “New Moon” is more tragic than “Twilight,” not as “sunshine and roses.”

With a built-in fan base of the book series and Robert Pattison, it looks as though “New Moon” is shaping up to be the sequel that all eyes will be watching.
