Product Review: Clinique Super City Block SPF 40

super-city_block-1

As we’re all aware by now, sunblock protection is a must and you should be wearing the stuff on a regular basis.  I’m a skincare freak and have always been known to try every sunblock known to woman to get the best sun protection for the best price.  Oh, and it better not make me break out which is difficult as I have sensitive, yet combination skin which can look like an oil slick if I try a product that is not oil-free.

Anyway, I tried out Clinique’s Super City Block, and was a bit freaked out at first because it looked as though it was going to be liquid foundation.  Then I realized that the sunblock has tinted moisturizer which is good if you’d like to cover up your imperfections, but bad if your complexion doesn’t match the color of the tinted moisturizer. It has broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunblock, antioxidants, can be used as a makeup primer, and is weightless/sheer upon application. Let’s not forget that it has SPF 40 which is hard-core in terms of fighting off those wrinkle-causing UVA/UVB rays.

I used this product for about a week or so and had to say that it did not cause me to break out and did make my skin a bit more even-toned. The only thing I didn’t like about this product was that it was $17.50 as I’ve tested other sunblocks that had the same results and were less than ten bucks.

Overall, a good product that does the job.
