American Idol Rat Pack Theme

With only 5 contestants remaining on this year’s American Idol competition, tonight’s show will be dedicated to the famed Rat Pack. The show’s theme will go all the way back to the 50′s and 60′s allowing idol contestants to do there best rendition of the Pack. Gaining popularity in the mid-60′s the original Rat Pack included, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.

Is it just me or does it seem like the American Idol show goes on longer than needed. I admire the fact that they are paying tribute to some of the best entertainers to ever do it, but I always thought American Idol was about originality. Yes the are able to demonstrate there best impersonation of Sinatra, but that doesn’t really show a lot of artistic creativity to me.

Nonetheless, I’ll probably tune in anyway and to see Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and the rest of the gang show off there skills. If they’re successful, we’ll feel like were back in Vegas enjoying the best of the 50′s and 60′s.
