There’s a Site Called HeyItsFree.Net

free-stuff-1

So maybe you’ve cut back on your coffee purchases, started eating more meals at home and brown-bagging your lunch to school or work, or maybe you’ve cut out eating out altogether?  The truth is that saving money is the name of the day in this day  and age, and people aren’t ashamed to admit it.

The Washington Post reported on a story about Ryan Eubanks, 26, a resident of Frederick County who decided to start a site called http://Heyitsfree.net, and posts up to four times daily with companies that are giving away free items. The majority of the products tend to be lotions, soaps, coffee, toiletries, and items of that nature.  As a father of three children, Eubanks is always on the lookout for deals and free giveaways.

Some good tips from Ryan include the following:

1) Don’t believe a company giving away high-end items because high-end freebies don’t exist:

2) Don’t submit credit card or other information beyond an e-mail or mailing address to which the company can send the freebie.

3) Watch for Expiration Dates.

When he’s not busy giving out information about free offers for the rest of us, Eubanks blogs about raising three children.  I guess what we can all glean from this guy and his website is that there are great deals to be had out there, but if it sounds TOO good to be true, it probably is.

Be safe in your quest to find good deals online and protect your private information.

  1. As the subject of the Washington Post article, I can assure you that I’m not a father of any, let alone three :)

Also, the personal blog that you link to is in no way affiliated with me. The person who owns that site is Jill Berry.
