elizabeth-edwards-talks-1Elizabeth Edwards, the lawyer, mother, and wife to Senator John Edwards, has stood by her husband’s side during his 2004 Vice Presidential campaign as well as during his 2008 Presidential campaign.  She graduated from University of North Carolina Law School before practicing law at firms  Harwell Barr Martin & Sloan and later at the law firm Merriman, Nicholls, and Crampton.

She retired from her legal practice in 1996 and devoted her time to being a mother, working with the Wade Edwards Foundation, and also advising her husband.  Edwards was also diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and wrote a New York Times best-selling book entitled, “Saving Graces: Finding Solace and Strength from Friends and Strangers” a memoir of her trials, tragedies, and triumphs.  But in August 2008, John Edwards admitted to having an affair with Rielle Hunter, an aspiring videographer, who made short videos for PAC, the One America Committee.

Edwards recently wrote a new memoir entitled, “Resilience,” in which she discusses her response to learning that her husband had an affair with Rielle Hunter as well as the fact that she thought her husband should not have run for President.

Upon hearing of her husband’s actions, Edwards  says she “cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up.”  I’m thinking that her husband, John “Breck Hair,” Edwards will be cringing to see the response to the book.
