The Save Chuck Campaign

For all you Chuck TV fans out there, hope is still alive and it might not be to late to save your show. In only its 2nd season, NBC’s sitcom Chuck, which follows a computer geek turned secret agent on his adventures, is on the brink cancellation. A huge social media movement has been created behind the “Save Chuck” campaign and is getting a good response on plenty of blogs and twitter accounts.
Fans are hoping petitions and letters along with social media will be enough to convince NBC to bring Chuck back for a third season. Campaigns such as these are quite common in TV sitcoms and date all the way back to when Star Trek was saved from going off the air in the 60’s.
The social networking of the “Save Chuck” campaign has inspired fans to write there favorite things about the show on Facebook, Myspace and other social networking accounts. Television bloggers are also feeding into this movement by featuring links to various twitter and blogging accounts participating in the “Save Chuck” campaign. It will be interesting to see if this idea really work. Chuck just might be saved after all.
