Drew Peterson Arrested
Former Bolingbrook, Illinois Police Sergeant Drew Peterson was arrested today on charges of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Peterson first drew headlines two years ago after his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, mysteriously disappeared. Investigations into the controversial Peterson case brought homicide detectives to look into the strange death of Savio who had died a few years prior.
Upon exuming Savio’s body for further analysis, authorities found new evidence and re-classified her death from “accidental” to “homicide”. This change in classification brought vindication to Savio’s family who had long suspected foul play.
Savio had originally been found dead in 2004 in an empty bathtub at her home. Today’s charges claim Drew Peterson had struggled with Savio before drowning her in the bathtub, afterwards releasing the water and evidence. Savio’s death came directly before a scheduled court appearance between Drew and Kathleen in regard to the recently divorced couple’s property.
Drew Peterson was arrested at a busy intersection in the Chicago area when local police surrounded his vehicle.
Stacy Peterson is still missing.
