If you happen to be a baseball fan, you’ll probably know Superstar Los Angeles Dodger Outfielder Manny Ramirez. Unfortunately it looks like his Star status has taken a hit as it was reported that he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and was suspended for 50 games.
In response, Ramirez released a statement saying, ” Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.”
Since being traded in 2008 to the Los Angeles Dodgers from the Boston Red Sox, Ramirez has gained the respect of die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers fans as well as leading the Dodgers to a 21-8 record.
Ramirez’s drug scandal comes after it was recently reported that New York Yankees Star Alex Rodriguez or A-Rod admitted that he used steroids to enhance his game from 2001-2003.
