Well, a picture does say a thousand words, and this particular one not only scared the residents of New York City, but is also the main reason why Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military office, has resigned after he authorized having Air Force One flying low over the Statue of Liberty on April 27th.

New York City residents are tough, but it’s also a city that dealt with 9-11, so any type of planes flying in close proximity to New York landmarks are not okay.  Especially when there was no public notification. Caldera wrote in a letter to President Obama that this incident  “has made it impossible for me to effectively lead the White House Military Office.”

After the  incident, Caldera released a statement saying,

“Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision. While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, it’s clear that the mission created confusion and disruption. I apologize and take responsibility for any distress that flight caused.

that is a nice looking picture, but yeah as others have said -- why not just photo shop it in? no need to scare half of NYC.
