Hey “Big Shaft”……what do YOU drive? You say “Buy American” but exactly what does that mean? You buy a Dodge truck, and it could have been made in Mexico, or buy a Chrysler Town & Country or 300, Dodge Charger or Magnum and find out they were made in Canada. What about the Pontiac G8? Australia. Saturns? Some are made by Opel in Germany. If you look at what is “actually made in the U.S.A.”, your choices are really limited……and we haven’t even begun talking about the parts and assemblies that go into your “American” vehicles. WAKE UP “Shaft”, you’re asleep on the assembly line AGAIN!

Some of you guys just don’t get it. If we’re to compare, lets say, Toyota to Chrysler, you have Toyota as the NUMBER TWO automaker in the U.S., outselling Chrysler the past years hands down, with only a 1,200 dealer network. Chrysler has currently (inc those slated to close) 3,189! WHY do you need 2.5 times the number of dealers to sell nearly half as many vehicles? As for ‘why’ were these dealers chosen? Some say they don’t know and that’s BS. Chrysler has passed on to ALL dealers their ’scorecard’ as to how they were rated and what their criteria was. There isn’t a dealer out there (Chrysler LLC, that is) that doesn’t understand why……it’s a done deal and those 789 dealers KNOW IT and KNOW WHY!

I was referring to the Tahoe HYBRID in your response to your statement that Gm is not into the Hybrid market moron. If you knew what you were talking about, you might not end up sounding like such a complete idiot who works at rental company making minimum wage! The Tahoe HYBRID took the Green vehicle of the year when it was introduced, reaching 20mpg city and hwy. I’m pretty sure your Sequoia doesn’t even come close. Secondly, I have no worries about my job here, I work for one of the top Chevrolet Stores in the North East, and with my sales, I could work anywhere I please. I like to support my country and the people who also help support our country, unlike yourself. Idiots like you need to be deported, you give nothing back to your community or your country and are worthless. Again, your pathetic and a waste of time. Any day you’d like to compare degrees, I’d be happy to pony up to the table. The trains comin, the whistles blowin, time to get off the tracks cause Gm is on a tear. When the Volt hits, and it will, it’s gonna decimate the rest and leave tracks all over Toyota and Honda. Uh, last I heard it wasn’t GM that brought the world’s economy to it’s knees, but rather the capitalist geniuses on Wall Street. If it wasn’t for greedy investment bankers making trade after trade on the crazy assumption that housing prices would never go down, we’d all be doing just fine.

And of course THE MARKET did nothing to stop these investment makers and in fact only encouraged them (stripping Government regulations as they went). So I guess if you want to live and die by the Market then a lot of you types should just do that and follow the market’s lead straight into the ground.

Here again, you attempt to say that honda and toyota are building better vehicles, yet the reports and the facts do not support that theory of yours. It is yet again, another person talking out of their ass with nothing to back up their claims. Why don’t you hop on J.D powers, or Car and driver along with many other professional auto magazines and read the articles about how Honda and Toyota are losing ground on their car quality and how Gm is surpassing thier cars in Fuel economy and Mechanical viablility. It’s ignorance that is bliss here with misconceptions and lack of new knowledge, and that is the biggest problem with others that think the same way. Get out into the real world and look for yourself. If all you can do is make empty false statements, then you can join the likes of our last president who served 8 yrs feeding us lines of crap and false statements. Good luck with your car rental business, and by the way, if there is no oil in the Vehicle, it doesn’t take a mechanic to tell you that the little oil pressure light and gauge would tell you right away that the oil was low or empty. Mr. GM Worker – You failed to say why the american made car companies are going under. It only took gm 65 years to make a better chevy malibu. Sheer luck or not on my lexus is not the issue. Lexus/Toyota make a much better product. Honda awesome. Go out and buy an import and your trade in value is reasonable. Buy a new GM or chrysler you are probably buried because your trade is worth crap. i’m in the car industry and i work for the largest rental car company in the world and we have shifted to buy more imports. One they are better made. Two they hold a resale value. My fleet i manage had a kia rio ($18 Grand) that had no oil in it due to a faulty oil filter. Wow they have a safety feature that shuts down the engine to keep it from getting damaged. I also had a GMC Acadia ($35 grand) no oil in it low and behold no safety feature to protect the motor and a new motor is $6 grand. That is the difference…… The unions killed GM, Chrysler as well. Good luck in keeping your job.

To the Lexus owner: It’s people like you that like to talk about the american cars based off other’s opinions and false statements that really make me laugh. the fact that you say you’ve only put tires on your lexus along with brakes is sheer luck, take a look at the ratings for lexus and the avg cost of mant and upkeep, it’s double that of an american auto, I would hope that if I had to spend double on maint and service that the car would last much longer, but thats not the case and we know that. I’ve sold a ton of lexus and taken in close to 100 in my 8 yrs in sales, and I can tell you, they aren’t what your describijng, horrible computer problems along with outrageous charges to have a simple item fixed. Now to cover the ameircan cars, have you looked at a new Chevrolet Malibu, Highest ranked car in quality and style, above Honda and Toyota by far, AND cheaper to maintain. Toyota has had more recalls than ford and Chevy combined in the past three years, that sure doesn’t sound like quality to me. Get a clue and do a little research on things before you try to sound like you know what your talking about. Amreican cars and trucks have ruled the leader board for best cars in their class for 3 yrs in a row now, including Cars and trucks. Honda and Toyota do build great vehicles, but The americans have caught back up and are now statring to edge them out in some close categorys, and once the restructure is done and they get on their feet which is inevitable, then you will see the ameircan car back in it’s rightful place in every category. Right now I’m happy with our Truck and our cars pulling ahead of them, and look forward to a healthy resurrection of all the lines across the big three.

Actually we do have to change, but just because these franchises are being lost, doesn’t mean that the dealerships will close their doors for good. A lot of dealers will remain open as primarily pre-owned dealers and service centers. Used cars, service and parts are most dealers’ biggest profit centers.

I bought a used Lexus with 20,000 miles on it and it now has 80,000 miles on it and have replaced the tires and brakes. If this was GM, Ford or Chrysler i would have dumped tons of money into it by now. Chevy Aveo part of the car is made in japan. I love my country but the these union workers need to wake up and smell the breakfast. The ceo of toyota makes 1 million dollars a year. Why does the ceo of gm have to make 20 millions a year? The is part of the difference of a profitable company and a company going under. Bye, Bye GM, Chrysler….

I think this whole process is horrible. I cannot believe that in the 21st centruy this would be happening. Once GM took the bailout money it was downhill. They should have filed bankruptcy like other companies do/did and reorganize. There may have still been cuts and maybe dealerships lost, but not to this magnitude. Why in the world did GM allow Obama to step in and fire the CEO. Tell Chrysler that they cannot use the budget they have in place. I think this is unconstitutional. Why does the goverment feel like they know how to run the Auto Industry? Haven’t they proved how they have run the Education, Medicare, Social Security, etc in the ground. The goverment should be focusing on other issues. Like investigating Nancy Pelosi and her lies. Wake up America and show your true colors and let’s fight for the RED, WHITE, and BLUE, before the colors have faded away. What is next???????????
