I say Good Rittens I went to buy a Soltice when they first came out. The greedy dealer wanted $4000.00 over sticker because it was a special car. I told I hope he choked on it. That dealer is on the closed list. Greed never satisfied anyone. GOOD BYE GOOD RITTENS

Hey "Big Shaft"......what do YOU drive? You say "Buy American" but exactly what does that mean? You buy a Dodge truck, and it could have been made in Mexico, or buy a Chrysler Town & Country or 300, Dodge Charger or Magnum and find out they were made in Canada. What about the Pontiac G8? Australia. Saturns? Some are made by Opel in Germany. If you look at what is "actually made in the U.S.A.", your choices are really limited......and we haven't even begun talking about the parts and assemblies that go into your "American" vehicles. WAKE UP "Shaft", you're asleep on the assembly line AGAIN!

Some of you guys just don't get it. If we're to compare, lets say, Toyota to Chrysler, you have Toyota as the NUMBER TWO automaker in the U.S., outselling Chrysler the past years hands down, with only a 1,200 dealer network. Chrysler has currently (inc those slated to close) 3,189! WHY do you need 2.5 times the number of dealers to sell nearly half as many vehicles? As for 'why' were these dealers chosen? Some say they don't know and that's BS. Chrysler has passed on to ALL dealers their 'scorecard' as to how they were rated and what their criteria was. There isn't a dealer out there (Chrysler LLC, that is) that doesn't understand why......it's a done deal and those 789 dealers KNOW IT and KNOW WHY!

Mr Lexus owner, using my no comment return statement is pretty lame, come up with your own line. Secondly. I was referring to the Tahoe HYBRID in your response to your statement that Gm is not into the Hybrid market moron. If you knew what you were talking about, you might not end up sounding like such a complete idiot who works at rental company making minimum wage! The Tahoe HYBRID took the Green vehicle of the year when it was introduced, reaching 20mpg city and hwy. I'm pretty sure your Sequoia doesn't even come close. Secondly, I have no worries about my job here, I work for one of the top Chevrolet Stores in the North East, and with my sales, I could work anywhere I please. I like to support my country and the people who also help support our country, unlike yourself. Idiots like you need to be deported, you give nothing back to your community or your country and are worthless. Again, your pathetic and a waste of time. Any day you'd like to compare degrees, I'd be happy to pony up to the table. You can try and talk all the smack you'd like, but again, your facts are off topic and worthless in comparison, so please don't make any more attempts to copy and paste useless info. Like I said before, your wonderful Lexus company, or should I say Glorified Toyota just got smacked by a company as you say thats getting ready to go bankrupt, I'm pretty sure thats embarrising for Toyota and it's gonna be something there gonna have to get used to in the future as Gm restructures and reorganizes there efforts. Just think, if they can Dethrone the so called leader in this segement as they are getting ready to bottom out, whats gonna happen when they do turn around in the next 6 months? It's gonna be a blast to watch all you idiots sniffling on here trying to talk smack and save face. Good luck with you rental job.

Mr. gm worker, first of all it took your kid 8 yrs to get through michigan? ha,ha. You really are broke. Let me guess you even voted for obama the community organizer? ha,ha again. Maybe be you should go to michigan for 8 years to get a degree since you sound like you are worried about losing your job. You might not understand the comparison below so you might want to ask your kid that went to michigan to explain it to you. lol

Here is your comparison - Full-size SUV Comparison: 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe vs. 2008 Ford Expedition vs. 2008 Nissan Armada vs. 2008 Toyota Sequoia

1st place:
2008 Toyota Sequoia Limited
Sport-sedan acceleration, luxury-car comfort, and tugboat towing make this new Toy the best of the bigs.

2nd place:
2008 Nissan Armada LE
Poor fuel economy, a snugger third row, and slower acceleration prevent the Armada from docking on top.

3rd place:
2008 Ford Expedition King Ranch
Quiet, roomy cabin and off-road adeptness overshadowed by cumbersome curb weight, soft suspenders, and a tacky dash.

4th place:
2008 Chevrolet Tahoe LT
Clean looks and commanding Z71 package can't overcome unsatisfactory four-speed and substandard interior packaging.

I'm done with proving you wrong. I give you facts and give me bullshit. Please don't respond since you should be out trying to find a job. Since you are in car sales and will need a job check your local toyota, nissan, honda dealer because they might higher you but i highly doubt it since you will need more than a high school diploma. I'm done wasting my time with responding to you. Good luck finding a job!!!!

And just so you can see that I actually back my story up with some actual facts, let me know how this feels:NEW YORK — Jaguar and Buick surged to the top of J.D. Power and Associates' closely watched vehicle dependability study this year, tying for the No. 1 spot and dethroning Lexus for the first time since the Japanese luxury brand has been a part of the survey. Taken from:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/19/jaguar-buick-reliability-_n_176755.html
I'm pretty sure that backs my story up. Your precious Lexus just got it's ass knocked down the mountain by a Company getting ready to go BK. I'm not sure what that says for Lexus, but I'm pretty sure it says that Gm and the rest are no longer playing, and that after the BK, they will be leaner and better equipped to knock the rest down a few pegs. The trains comin, the whistles blowin, time to get off the tracks cause Gm is on a tear. When the Volt hits, and it will, it's gonna decimate the rest and leave tracks all over Toyota and Honda. Mr Lexus owner, you can write what ever you want in reply, but it's worthless, your comments are all crap and have no basis or facts, so better to keep the B.S lines to yourself!

To the Lexus owner. First let me stop laguhing. Okay, thats better. Broke??? I'm not sure how you think I'm broke, but I'm pretty sure I could buy your cheap ass used lexus, the shithole house you live in and your fake ass suits you wear and still have money left to pay for my kids 8 yr tuition to Michigan. Secondly, I'm pretty sure that Gm has the Highest ranked Full Size Suv on the market, and To follow, the Ford Fusion hybrid is the highest rated Hybrid in the mid size class for fuel mileage. You like to talk alot of crap and try to sound like you know what it is your trying to say, but once again, you a very WRONG, and the proof is in your pathetic comments above. When you get some real factual knowledge, bring your best, otherwise, you can keep your false statements and comments off here.

Lexus Owner, if it was up to you, ALL OF OUR CARS WOULD BE BUILT IN JAPAN, KOREA, OR CHINA! Even the Japanese automakers would close up shop here if the Big 3 fail because the parts suppliers would go under as well. Mr GM Worker, I own a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx LT and I LOVE IT!

Here you go MR.GM WORKER- "GM and Toyota were once very comparable in almost all statistics. The pendulum has definitely swung for Toyota and appears it will stay that way for a long, long time."
"Toyota has set itself apart as the undisputed world leader with the hybrid auto: half combustible engine, half battery powered. The hybrids are still at a price premium to comparable standard combustible, gasoline-powered models, but they will close that gap over the next two or three years. The hybrids come in luxurious lines of the Camry, the Highlander SUV, and the Lexus RX series, as well as the economical Prius model. GM has yet to enter the hybrid field in a serious way."
"Toyota has just come off a five-year period of growth in its per-share earnings at 26% per year, an astounding accomplishment for such a large company. General Motors has experienced flat to negative earnings per share growth over the same five-year period. Toyota is opening new plants, both in Japan and the U.S., to handle demand, while General Motors is closing plants to save costs and resources."
DO I NEED TO SAY ANYMORE MR GM WORKER??????

Vince can you explain that to the idiot gm worker on here. His wonderful union brought the company he used to work for (ha,ha) down. He wants me to hop on JD powers to show me gm is gaining ground on toyota and honda. Finally after 65 years they are starting to make a better car. Former gm worker I bet you will come to the dark side and buy an import because you will be tired of driving and dumping money into your worthless vehicle you drive. My point about the computer in the car was the difference between a cheap import vehicle compared to the expensive over priced going out of business gm car. You freakin idiot. Walmart is hiring.......Get a jobbie job cause my working ass isn't going to pay for your broke ass. See ya.....

Uh, last I heard it wasn't GM that brought the world's economy to it's knees, but rather the capitalist geniuses on Wall Street. If it wasn't for greedy investment bankers making trade after trade on the crazy assumption that housing prices would never go down, we'd all be doing just fine.

And of course THE MARKET did nothing to stop these investment makers and in fact only encouraged them (stripping Government regulations as they went). So I guess if you want to live and die by the Market then a lot of you types should just do that and follow the market's lead straight into the ground.

Good riddance.

uhh.. wasn’t it THE MARKET that brought this whole recession upon us? Also isn’t it THE MARKET that would have bankrupted both companies, letting them completely fail and allow even more layoffs?

Ahh yeah, that great and infallible MARKET that works oh so great.

Um, no you idiot, it was not the market. The market was not paying the wages GM was paying, the market was not giving the benefits GM was giving, and believe it or not, if a company goes bankrupt, it's because the market is telling it to either shape up or ship out, and when they do ship out, they benefit the market.

Here again, you attempt to say that honda and toyota are building better vehicles, yet the reports and the facts do not support that theory of yours. It is yet again, another person talking out of their ass with nothing to back up their claims. Why don't you hop on J.D powers, or Car and driver along with many other professional auto magazines and read the articles about how Honda and Toyota are losing ground on their car quality and how Gm is surpassing thier cars in Fuel economy and Mechanical viablility. It's ignorance that is bliss here with misconceptions and lack of new knowledge, and that is the biggest problem with others that think the same way. Get out into the real world and look for yourself. If all you can do is make empty false statements, then you can join the likes of our last president who served 8 yrs feeding us lines of crap and false statements. Your just another typical American bashing kool aid drinker who will believe anything that the gossipers tell you. Good luck with your car rental business, and by the way, if there is no oil in the Vehicle, it doesn't take a mechanic to tell you that the little oil pressure light and gauge would tell you right away that the oil was low or empty. You should be ashamed to have to rely on a computer to tell you that their was no oil in those vehicles!

Mr. GM Worker - You failed to say why the american made car companies are going under. It only took gm 65 years to make a better chevy malibu. Sheer luck or not on my lexus is not the issue. Lexus/Toyota make a much better product. Honda awesome. Go out and buy an import and your trade in value is reasonable. Buy a new GM or chrysler you are probably buried because your trade is worth crap. i'm in the car industry and i work for the largest rental car company in the world and we have shifted to buy more imports. One they are better made. Two they hold a resale value. My fleet i manage had a kia rio ($18 Grand) that had no oil in it due to a faulty oil filter. Wow they have a safety feature that shuts down the engine to keep it from getting damaged. I also had a GMC Acadia ($35 grand) no oil in it low and behold no safety feature to protect the motor and a new motor is $6 grand. That is the difference...... The unions killed GM, Chrysler as well. Good luck in keeping your job.

To the Lexus owner: It's people like you that like to talk about the american cars based off other's opinions and false statements that really make me laugh. the fact that you say you've only put tires on your lexus along with brakes is sheer luck, take a look at the ratings for lexus and the avg cost of mant and upkeep, it's double that of an american auto, I would hope that if I had to spend double on maint and service that the car would last much longer, but thats not the case and we know that. I've sold a ton of lexus and taken in close to 100 in my 8 yrs in sales, and I can tell you, they aren't what your describijng, horrible computer problems along with outrageous charges to have a simple item fixed. Now to cover the ameircan cars, have you looked at a new Chevrolet Malibu, Highest ranked car in quality and style, above Honda and Toyota by far, AND cheaper to maintain. Toyota has had more recalls than ford and Chevy combined in the past three years, that sure doesn't sound like quality to me. Get a clue and do a little research on things before you try to sound like you know what your talking about. Amreican cars and trucks have ruled the leader board for best cars in their class for 3 yrs in a row now, including Cars and trucks. Honda and Toyota do build great vehicles, but The americans have caught back up and are now statring to edge them out in some close categorys, and once the restructure is done and they get on their feet which is inevitable, then you will see the ameircan car back in it's rightful place in every category. Right now I'm happy with our Truck and our cars pulling ahead of them, and look forward to a healthy resurrection of all the lines across the big three.

"The average is 50 employees. Looks like a net loss of 55,000 jobs if 1100 are closed. Ain’t we got CHANGE?!?!?"

Actually we do have to change, but just because these franchises are being lost, doesn't mean that the dealerships will close their doors for good. A lot of dealers will remain open as primarily pre-owned dealers and service centers. Used cars, service and parts are most dealers' biggest profit centers.

Pontiac Owner, Ozarkgal, Surprised Citizen - If only the american made car makers would only realize you can't expect to charge americans triple the cost of a car and the car only last half as long. I bought a used Lexus with 20,000 miles on it and it now has 80,000 miles on it and have replaced the tires and brakes. If this was GM, Ford or Chrysler i would have dumped tons of money into it by now. Chevy Aveo part of the car is made in japan. I love my country but the these union workers need to wake up and smell the breakfast. The ceo of toyota makes 1 million dollars a year. Why does the ceo of gm have to make 20 millions a year? The is part of the difference of a profitable company and a company going under. Bye, Bye GM, Chrysler....

I agree w/Surprised Citizen....people should be supporting American products...that is if you can find anything that is truly made in American anymore. Just heard that Chrysler is closing their Kenosha, WI plant and moving the operations to Mexico.

Maybe if all you who are complaining about American Automotive bailouts quit buying imports we wouldn't be in this situation. I am tired of hearing people moan and complain about what is going on. Why doesn't everyone start supportng the United States and we wouldn't be in any messes.

I think this whole process is horrible. I cannot believe that in the 21st centruy this would be happening. Once GM took the bailout money it was downhill. They should have filed bankruptcy like other companies do/did and reorganize. There may have still been cuts and maybe dealerships lost, but not to this magnitude. Why in the world did GM allow Obama to step in and fire the CEO. Tell Chrysler that they cannot use the budget they have in place. I think this is unconstitutional. Why does the goverment feel like they know how to run the Auto Industry? Haven't they proved how they have run the Education, Medicare, Social Security, etc in the ground. The goverment should be focusing on other issues. Like investigating Nancy Pelosi and her lies. Wake up America and show your true colors and let's fight for the RED, WHITE, and BLUE, before the colors have faded away. What is next???????????
