I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of unflattering and embarrassing yearbook pictures (I know I have), but this recent photo-mishap from Sickles High School in Tampa Bay, Florida simply takes the cake. Preparing for picture day earlier this year a 16-year-old student decided to forgo her underwear in an attempt to avoid the dreaded “panty lines” dilemma. However this clever idea to go commando quickly backfired when the girl accidentally exposed more than she wanted to for her Pottery Club photo. In the photo the green-dress wearing Junior left her legs slightly open revealing a panty-less crotch. Oops.
To make matters worse, this picture ended up printed within the high school’s 2008-2009 yearbook that was handed out on Monday. Mortified, the poor girl has refused to show up to class since and her mother has called for a school-wide yearbook recall and reprint. A request I can more than understand and I hope works out for the young girl.
As to the school’s officials? They think it’s just a shadow and nothing more. The girl however vehemently disagrees and admits it is indeed her worst fear — her crotch. Asked whether she did it on purpose (who would do this?!) the girl replied, “Absolutely not. It is ridiculously embarrassing.”
While pictures of the yearbook have indeed leaked, so far they’ve all been blurred versions. Which is very fortunate. It’s bad enough having your exposed crotch spread throughout your high school, but it’s a whole other mater when it’s spread across the internet. So for this girl’s sake — and our own (she’s only 16!) — let’s hope it stays that way.
Yikes, that’s bad! Still though, it’s only high school. Once college starts for this girl, this whole fiasco will be behind her and she’ll be fine. Especially since the real photo and her name have yet to have been released.
Let’s hope that mom can get the yearbooks recalled before the pictures officially “leak”

Looking at the picture her right hand is holding her bunched skirt. Also that style dress is not tight enough to cause panty lines. This child clearly exposed herself on purpose then had second thoughs once the yearbook came out.
They now need to change the school mascot officially from the Pirates to the Sickles Beavers.:p
You don’t see panty lines when you’re sitting down. I don’t buy the whole panty line story. And you don’t take school pictures standing up. You only see panty lines from the back and who takes a pic with their back to the camera? I don’t buy it. I don’t know why she was naked underneath, but living in Texas and knowing how humid and hot it is, I would say it’s just simply cooler to go without underwear.
i’m a senior at Sickles high & when you look at the picture all you see is her leg fat & a black shadow! no one would have ever been able to know she wasn’t wearing underwear if she hadn’t opened her mouth. it is completely unfair for the school to collect our yearbooks because of a mere shadow, our last day is in 5 days & we could never get the yearbooks printed on time to have them signed with memories from our last year of high school. her & her mom are making such a big deal about what looks like a shadow:: she’s even going on Oprah, how ridiculous can this get?! If she’s so embarrassed about the picture in the yearbook she wouldn’t have made it would wide! This girl only wants attention!

I go to Sickles: I fully agree. Anyway, good promo for her and one way to make money. And pantylines is a foul alibi, she could wear thong also. So i guess it`s all about attention. And reprint yearbook? Silly. People have have scanners and internet, that stuff is online.
All the students with yearbooks should cut the page out, mail it to the person who is whining, bill her for the $45.00 ruined yearbook and tell her to get over it.
That way you don’t have the bad taste of… bad taste ruining the good memories you want to preserve.
