Vogue Editor Anna Wintour is used to being talked about, blogged about, and even having angry members of PETA yelling at her for wearing fur.  She’s the Ice Queen of the fashion world and was even the basis for the best-selling book and film called, “The Devil Wears Prada.”

This is not a title that she wears lightly, but she had a more cordial tone when she sat down with John Tisch at 92nd St. Y to discuss Vogue’s relevance in a Recession and also to address rumors about her future with the famous fashion mag.

Here are some of the highlights from NYMag.

On Whether She’s Looking On to leave Vogue- I think that I have the best job in the entire world. To be honest, I don’t think I’d be very good at anything else!

On How The Recession is Affecting Fashion- You have to remember exactly who you are and not panic. I don’t think that Vogue should turn into Recession Weekly. But at the same time, I think that we have to be very aware of what’s going on in the world.

On Retail’s Permanent Makeover- I think when things changed so dramatically last fall, some retailers panicked.  But I think that period’s over. We had a meeting with the biggest stores in New York last week — there’s no question that they feel that time has passed. But they bought much more carefully.

I totally agree. She's a stylish Ice Queen with the power to make or break a designer's career.
