Got Wine?

Whether you are a self-proclaimed wino or someone who simply enjoys a nice glass of wine with dinner, you’ve probably heard of Napa Valley’s reputation as a producer and exporter of quality wine.  You’ve probably also seen images of the lush vineyards and swanky resorts and restaurants that make a killing in the Napa region of California.  If you are lucky, you’ve even been to Napa to taste some of the legendary wine.

In this economic recession, many Americans have trouble justifying a trip out to Napa for an elaborate and expensive winery tour or even a simple wine tasting at one of the many vineyards.  However, for the budget-conscious there are still many ways to learn about and enjoy wine without breaking the bank.  Local wineries are popping up across the country and finding much success among local wine appreciators who don’t want to make the trip out to Napa Valley.  These local wineries vary in quality but even the less prestigious ones can provide a fun afternoon of entertainment or a great venue to host a social occasion.  For the even more budget-conscious there are also many supplies available at specialty retailers and on the internet for hosting at-home wine tastings for friends.  The alcohol industry appears to be recession-proof as many Americans attempt to drink away their money woes, and the wine industry will inevitably continue to find ways to make it easier for consumers to learn about and enjoy wines.
