Amy Mickelson, Wife of Phil Mickelson, No. 2 golfer in the world announced she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer early Wednesday morning. Her husband Phil decided to withdraw from all tournaments indefinitely, including next week’s Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in which he won last year.
Doctors say Amy will be undergoing extensive surgeries in the next two weeks to fight the disease. Next week’s tournament was publicized to be featuring Mickelson and promotional ads including billboards and posters have already gone up. The tournament’s spokesperson said the promotional ads will remain in place and still be honoring last year’s winner.
The couple has been together for 13 years and have 3 kids ages 6, 7 and 9.
