Who Won American Idol Season 8

Tonight we shall find out the winner of American Idol Season 8. Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are the two remaining contestant’s in this year’s idol competition. According to reality TV blogs and betting sites, Lambert is the sure bet. Even Simon Cowell thinks Lambert will win. On Oprah last month, the hard to please Cowell said “There’s no way Lambert won’t win because he’s fearless, he’s unique and he’s got swagger.”

With the fans and judges behind him, it looks like a sure win for Lambert, but I wouldn’t count Allen out just yet. Allen brings something new and different to the table. Some Idol fan sites liken him to a previous runner-up Clay Aiken.

It’s hard to believe that this shows has been out for 8 years. As it continues to grow and acquire more viewers, Idol looks like it will be around for a little while longer. The only real question is what about the judges? Cowell has seen worldwide phenomena in his overseas show “Britain’s Got Talent,” but I don’t think he’ll stray far from his Idol “fan base.”
