Aldara, the trendy new skin care cream that promises “to help your body fight certain skin diseases, including actinic keratosis, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and external genital warts,” is the latest buzz on the web. The cream claims to kill disease cells by activating the immune cells through its topical cream.
Made to fight skin cancer, Aldara is currently 80-85 percent effective and often used after skin cancer removal surgery.
The hope is that Aldara cream will eliminate skin cancer surgery all together and also be used to prevent the most common form of cancer. Aldara seems to still be in their trial stages, but I do believe you can still purchase their product with a prescription.
I’m usually skeptical of these types of new medicines that promise you the cure to everything. It just seems like most of these products have more drastic side effects than anything and end up hurting you more then helping.
