Nothing upsets me more than seeing these Hollywood actresses turned moms give birth and go from pregnancy glam to looking totally emaciated (i.e. Tori Spelling!!). However, some Hollywood moms are keeping it real and those women totally need to be applauded!! It isn’t realistic nor healthy to drop 20-50 lbs in two weeks to a month!! One person we could all take an example from is Melissa Joan Hart!
She revealed her new bikini body during a photo for the cover of upcoming issue of People Magazine and she looks amazing! I have always been a huge fan of hers — how can any of us forget Clarissa Explains It All? — and she really should get three cheers for looking as amazing as she does! During her pregnancies, Melissa Joan Hart was often criticized for her weight gain and after giving birth it seemed the horrible comments stayed because, well…the weight did.
Until now that is. After years of being called names, the actress and mom of two decided that just because she was a “mom” didn’t mean that she’d have to stop taking care of herself! What is her inspiration you ask!? Well, People Magazine wrote that:
Her inspiration to finally get back in the best shape of her life? The women in her life, including her friend, actress Jaime Pressly, who has a son, Dezi, 2, as well as her own mom Paula, who gave birth to seven children “and is tiny!” Hart says. “I realized I didn’t have to be heavy just because I have kids.” Adds Pressly: “She finally took the time to take care of herself. I’m blown away by how amazing she looks.” Reclaiming her slim figure took Hart 14 months of hard work. “It didn’t happen by magic – it was as hard for me as it would be for anyone else,” she says. The fact that it took a little longer doesn’t bother her. “I didn’t want to take any time away from spending it with my sons,” she explains. To get back in bikini shape, Hart worked with nutritionist Derek Johnson at New Metabolism to change her diet. She also hit the gym with her trainer Mark Harari at Pulse Fitness Studio. As for how she feels now? “I feel amazing!” she says. “I had to prove to myself that I could do it. I had to give it a go!”
Seriously, more women need to ditch the liposuction and knives, adopt a healthy attitude about their body and take up a healthy diet and exercise regime.

Now 113 pounds? At that age? Looks like we lost another one to the super-skinny crowd.
