Phil Spector Sentenced: 19 Years To Life
The “Wall of Sound” aka Phil Spector was sentenced to 19 years-life today after being found guilty of fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson. The 69 year-old former producer was convicted of 2nd degree murder on April 13th 2009. The fateful day of the incident occured Feb 3, 2003, taking a ridiculously long 6 years to convict the Grammy Award winning producer.
Spector, who won’t be up for parole until 2028, will most likely be spending the rest of his life in prison. It’s unlikely he’ll be get off early due to the fact that he’s been tried and convicted more than once in this case. In 2007 the jury ended in a deadlock 10-2 decision, which then pushed for this latest trial. Many say bringing in the firearm as evidence made this an open shut case.
