Susan Boyle

Okay, so unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know who crooner Susan Boyle is by now.  She’s the church volunteer who tried out for “Britain’s Got Talent,” to a snickering audience and Simon’s bored face.

After bringing the audience to their feet with her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream,” from Les Miserables, Boyle became an instant Internet sensation and has appeared on Larry King Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and many more TV shows across the world.  She’s also gotten a new look, though her fans didn’t think that she needed to change her appearance.

Boyle performed “Memories,” from “Cats,” for her latest performance, garnering her a slot on the “Britain’s Got Talent,” finale.  Boyle’s story makes you want to root for her, as she has said that her mother’s death was the major reason why she wanted to enter the talent show.

Boyle says she wants to win “more than anything ever in my life,” and feels that a win will “prove that I am a worthwhile person.”  Actually, she already has. Win or lose, Boyle is an example of how dreams really can come true, no matter what people may say.

So you have a dream, go and get your shine on!
