A few weeks ago, nobody knew what a Glee Club was. Now, Glee fever is spreading faster than swine flu. Two weeks ago, Fox aired the pilot of its new hourlong musical comedy as a buzz-making preview of the show, which will officially start its first season this fall. The show tells the story of Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), a disgruntled high school teacher who endeavors to take the misfits in Glee Club and transform them into HSM-style all stars. (Based on their headshots on IMDB, I think he’s got a good shot.)
While Glee sometimes suffers from Dirty Sexy Money syndrome (amidst all the weirdos, our main guy comes off a bit boring), it seems to have potential to be fun, funny and certainly different than anything else on network television. Meanwhile, Jane Lynch is funny-as-usual as Will’s nemesis, the cheerleading coach, and all the magnetic young stars can really effing belt it out.
The cast’s remake of Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believing” actually landed at #4 on the Billboard charts, compared to the original’s #9. Yeesh! The only problem is – with this kind of success in a post-HSM world (yes, I really did just say that), is it realistic that the characters on the show could really be considered outsiders or misfits? Sorry singers (and Journey) – I’ve already stopped believing.

Ooo, now here's a conflict. Jane Lynch is a personal fav -- but HSM meets TV? I guess I can at least give it a shot.
