Actor’s Daughter Charged in Baby Death
The daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, Amanda Brumfield was charged with child neglect after an infant was caring for died in her care. After falling from her playpen the infant appeared to be OK according to Brumfield, so she waited two and a half hours to contact the EMT. The infant eventually died from what was reported as blunt trauma and a fractured skull.
Brumfield, who is 29 and estranged from her father has yet to comment on the matter, but Thorton’s ex-wife and Brumfield’s mother had this to say: “It’s a tragic situation, she loved that little girl so much and [her death] just crushed her, just devastated her.”
According to some sources Brumfield was the Godmother of this child and it is unconfirmed if that the family will be pressing charges. Thorton, who’s been on tour promoting his new rock album issued a statement through his publicist: “Anytime a baby’s life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby’s family and loved ones.”
