Swine Flu Returns? Prepare in Style

36_021

So the Swine Flu seems to have all but fizzled out for now, but some experts warn that it could make a comeback this fall and be bigger and badder than ever. Will you be ready? There’s no H1N1 vaccine so the only real precautions you can take are to avoid sick people, wash your hands frequently, and if you really feel threatened don a face mask.

Sound like a real style-kill to ruin your look with a mask like the ones doctors often wear during surgery? Apparently designer Irina Blok thought so too because she came up with this line of Swine Flu masks that let you personalize personal safety while showing off your sassy side, rebellious side, or just your simple “I’ve got a sense-of-humor” side. Masks come with everything from animal prints to skeletons to big red lips on them and come in an easy-to-order 8″ x 5″ “one size fits all” option. PLUS, they only cost $10 each and the proceeds go to Children International to help Mexico fight the Swine Flu epidemic.

One major complaint: these masks may look like medical masks but they don’t actually promise to offer any real protection (but just wear an ugly real mask underneath it and you should be good to go).
