David Letterman is not a politician. Rather he is best known for his dry, sarcastic humor, Top 10 lists, and somehow finding ways to get answers out of very coy celebrities on his popular show, “Late Night with David Letterman.” Which is to say, he is a comedian and entertainer, first and foremost. Which is why the news that Conservative author Michael Patrick Leahy has created FireDavidLetterman.com, which is a web site that, “encourages citizens to abandon watching the Late Show with David Letterman, and cease purchasing any products from companies that advertise during that hour.”
This is all in the aftermath of Letterman’s jokes about Sarah Palin’s daughter last week that has brought forth differing views from parents throughout the country. In fact, on one of our sister sites, Kidglue, there is one commenter who agrees with Palin, and one who doesn’t.
That said, while Letterman’s jokes may have been in bad taste, does he REALLY deserve to be fired? I don’t think so.

Joke was in poor form and he should probably apologize. But getting fired? A little too far, I think.
it’s one thing to start a website, quite another to get an actual following.
