I’m just going to come right out with it, I love Zooey Deschanel. Her quirky style constantly inspires me. If there is one person whose closet I would most like to raid, it would be hers.

Recently, a new Cotton commercial starring Ms. D gave me a little glimpse into what her closet might contain. Every time I see the commercial, I am inspired. Inspired to be bold and fearless when it comes to fashion. Inspired to wear the things I love, even if they are unconventional. Inspired to embrace my personal style.

What I appreciate the most about Zooey’s style, is that she never betrays her quirkiness for over-sexed outfits. I don’t fancy myself to be sexy in any way. What I think is sexy, a guy would probably consider weird. And I think that’s why I identify with Zooey. Check out this classic red carpet look from Zooey.

I prefer ruffles and cardigans and berets to low-cut tops, mini-skirts and sky-high sex-kitten heels. Flats are my shoes of choice, but when I do wear heals they are often retro pumps. Never are they super sexy. I guess I’m just glad to have an actress representing for the quirky girls out there.
