Are you looking to lose weight, gain more energy and glow from the inside out?! What American woman isn’t looking for these things; its basically taglined on every single diet product on the market today. However, if you have been reading my posts both here and on my blog, you know that I like to challenge conventional American diet plans. My goal is for your to achieve your goals with whole food, not anything artificial or with ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Enter juicing.
Lately, juicing whole fruit and veggies has become all the rage with juice bars sprouting up everywhere from LA to Miami. Many health conscious folks out there are making the pretty expensive investment of purchasing their own at home juicer (I couldn’t live without my Breville) so they can save some bucks and juice from home. But what exactly IS juicing and what benefits does juicing have?
Juicing not only allows our bodies to have many more fruits and vegetables that it normally would on any given day, but eating them raw may increase our overall energy as well. By adding dark leafy greens to your juice you are adding chlorophyll to your diet, which natural detoxifies and may help purify and rebuild our blood cells, which in turn, may help remove cancerous cells.
Raw veggies contain a naturally high level of alkaline, which balances out the body and ensures it does not become overly acidic. Most common ailments that take place in the body are the result of an overly acidic environment. Thus, people that juice get sick less often!
Finally, and most obviously, juicing gives the body an instant blast of vitamins and minerals, some of which are actually antibiotic and help ward off sickness. Veggies such as garlic, radish and cucumber all contain powerful antibiotics that go straight to the source to help keep you on your feet and feeling good! Maybe they were right when they said “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” after all!
