The beauty industry’s efforts to bottle The Fountain of Youth has typically taken the form of face creams and serums. La Mer sells it for over $100 an ounce and Philosophy calls theirs Hope in a Jar.  But that’s nothing new. The latest innovations in anti-aging products can be found in some pretty unexpected items.

Skin Glow Pillow with Cupron Copper Technology

Getting some Zzz’s could be the easiest way to preserve a youthful appearance. The pillows are made from a fabric that is made with copper oxide plated fibers during the manufacturing process. What does that do? The copper provides anti-microbial protection against bacteria and fungi, which in turn helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while you sleep. The technology does not wash off or wear away so it will keep working for the entire life of the product. Currently, Bed Bath and Beyond is the exclusive distributor for their line of products, which includes pillows, pillowcases and comforters.

Ageless Fantasy Anti-Aging Perfume

Claiming to be the world’s first anti-aging fragrance, the company boasts that a spritz day and night can make a woman seem 8-12 years younger. Scented with pink grapefruit, mango, pomegranate, jasmine and musk, the fragrance taps into the power of aromatherapy. The company cites research that men associate tropical fruits and pink grapefruit scents with “younger women.” I’m thinking there’s probably also a placebo effect that makes the wearer feel younger, making her behave more energetic and youthful.

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Anti-Aging Nail Lacquers

Getting older seems to come with a whole slew of lovely surprises, including dry, brittle and weak nails that are prone to splitting. But the good news is that now there’s a way to treat them. Dermelect is launching 3 nail treatments later this month. Their new nail strengthener, ridge filler and nail thickener formulas contain a peptide ingredient called ProSina, which is derived from New Zealand wool. As peptides have done in traditional skin care, ProSina is said to offer age-defying, strengthening and moisturizing properties for the nails.
