After the King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away last week at the age of 50, one of the major questions was what would happen to his three children?
Well, that seems to have been settled, for now.
Michael Jackson’s three children, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7, will be placed under the temporary custody of Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, as ruled by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Becklof Monday morning.
A second hearing regarding the matter and permanent custody will be held August 3.
Deborah Rowe, whereabouts “unknown” according to court materials, is the actual mother of the older two children. The mother of the youngest one, known to most people by the nickname “Blanket,” is a a surrogate so his mother is listed as “none.”
Next up for Jackson’s mom is trying to gain control of her son’s estate, according to sources who spoke to the Associated Press.
Jackson, 79, listed the value of her son’s estate to be “unknown” according to the same report and claims to want to control to be able to protect her son’s legacy.
Part of that legacy is rumored to include footage of his final rehearsal, taped last week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which might be released as a concert DVD, according to The Wrap.
