At 10 a.m. P.S.T. Tuesday, most of the major television networks will be broadcasting live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. That’s the site of Michael Jackson’s public Memorial Service and it’s the hottest ticket in the world.

The service was a topic of great discussion this holiday weekend with people registering to try and get tickets and waiting to see if they won. Reportedly, over a million and a half people registered online to get one of 8,750 pairs of tickets and winners were notified on Sunday evening. Those people have to go to a location Monday to pick up their tickets and put on a wristband. Both will be needed for entry.

Though the wristband is intended to cut back on piracy and scalping, several auctions on eBay were asking more than $1,000 for tickets. However, the illegal auctions were being taken down.

Only people with tickets are supposed to come down to the area in downtown Los Angeles, but LA officials are expecting that not to be the case. They are hoping most people watch the event on TV, which will be aired live on NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and E! but expect numbers in the thousands to show up.

What’s going to happen at the event? No one knows for sure and probably won’t until Tuesday morning. However, TMZ is reporting that Mariah Carey is scheduled to sing and the Associated Press says that Jackson’s second wife and the mother of his children, Debbie Rowe, will also be there.
