She may not be on the level of a Michelle Kwan or Nancy Kerrigan but former figure skater Nicole Bobek now has something in common with Tonya Harding: jail.
Bobek, 31, who won the United States woman’s figure skating championship in 1995, was charged with “conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine” this week in New Jersey, according to the New York Daily News. She was arrested last week in Florida and then brought to New Jersey where the drug ring is allegedly based.
Twenty other people were arrested as part of the bust, according to the paper, but Prosecutor Edward DeFazio of Hudson County, NJ said that Bobek “played a significant role in this operation. She was actively involved in the upper echelon of this ring.”
Her lawyer entered a “Not Guilty” plea and she was held on $200,000 bail which, as of Monday night, had been posted, according to the Associated Press. Bobek is now out of jail but still in hot water. If convicted of these charges, she could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison.
Bobek’s mother told the AP that “her daughter likes to ‘party’ and that she has a good heart that has been taken advantage of in the past.”

Police ought to look at her mother and her female "friend". They lived off of Nicole through the money she made ice skating. Nicole loved her mother and tried to please her but it was all about money on her mother's part. If someone else had raised Nicole she never would have gotten into this. I feel very sorry for her. She was doomed before she got a chance to grow up.

where's nicole's father in all of this? the mother won't be able to get her out of this one if the police already know she was very very involved. also, if nicole never had a childhood, the rebellion she's showed for a long time isn't surprising. home invasions, attitude, bitchiness comes from her supporting her mother and not getting to be a kid. she sure does look bad in that mug shot. holy hell. she was so cute back in the day.
