Bruno On Today Show
“Bruno”, the uber-famous fashion critic, made an appearance on the Today Show with Matt Lauer this morning. The Austrian fashionologist says he wants to be the biggest star from Austria since Hitler. He also talks about his appreciation for the United States and how everyone has been so welcoming. He further went on to say that America’s love for Austrians is so grand that the state of California even elected one as their Governor.
Sacha Baron Cohen, the actor who plays Bruno, decided to retire his popular character Borat of Kazakstan last year. Known for pushing the envelope in every interview and show he’s on, Cohen’s Bruno character is likely to be as big a hit as Borat was nationwide. The film hits theater’s nationwide tomorrow.
In the Today Show segment, Lauer plays along with the Bruno character, while asking him semi-serious questions about the Middle East, being blacklisted in European fashion shows and a possible boycott of his movie. If you are a fan of Cohen you will notice that throughout the interview he reverts back to his “Ali G” accent from time to time and even uses some of the same jokes from his former character.
