Depending on the results of an upcoming coroners report and toxicology test, Michael Jackson’s death could become a criminal case. This according to a new CNN report.

“We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner’s office as to cause of death. That is going to be very dependent on the toxicology reports that are due to come back,” Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton told CNN. “And based on those, we will have an idea of what it is we are dealing [with]: are we dealing with a homicide or are we dealing with accidental overdose?”

The family is aware that this is a possibility with Michael’s father Joe Jackson going so far as to tell ABC News, “I do believe it was foul play.”

Also part of the ongoing investigation, the LAPD has subpoenaed medical records from several different doctors who prescribed Jackson all types of medications, according to the LA Times.

All of this information will then begin to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Was Michael abusing medications himself? Did someone force him to take them? Was he obtaining all the medications legally and, if not, who is responsible?

While the memorial service is done and the body is about to be put to rest, the Michael Jackson saga continues.

  1. doubt it’s foul play, the guy had been clearly taking lots of painkillers for a number of years, it’s no wonder he eventually overdosed.
