‘No Pants’ Trend Really Takes Off

What Lady Gaga has made public (very public), French Vogue has now turned into an official trend. The ‘no pants’ phenomenon is sweeping the world.

When did it become ok to leave your house without pants? Even Paris Hilton has enough modesty to put on a whole dress (although she seems to forget her underwear a lot). Damn you, Lady Gaga, for forcing me to single out Paris Hilton as a pillar of modesty. Damn you!

I can take comfort in knowing this trend will never extend far beyond the borders of celebrity or the pages of Vogue. After all, I seriously doubt that the average woman is ballsy enough to strut around the mall or go out to dinner with her boyfriend wearing only a unitard and heels.

Shame on you, French Vogue, for letting an American pop singer dictate your editorial content. When it comes to fashion, I thought the French were supposed to be cutting-edge. Avant garde! Sure, the pics in the magazine are hot. And, deep down, every woman wishes she could frolic in the streets of Paris with a hot man while wearing skimpy outfits like those. But it ain’t gonna happen.

Even though Lady Gaga’s mentioned the launch of her own clothing line, yes that’s right… let’s hope the fad passes, as it should.

Until then, I will continue waking up each morning and putting on my pants one leg at a time. Just like everyone else, except Lady Gaga.
