Mariah Carey’s ‘Obsessed’ Video Premieres, Is That Eminem?
Diva singer Mariah Carey’s new video, “Obsessed,” has begun to make the rounds both online and on television and though Carey swears it’s not about Eminem, all the evidence points to the contrary.

Here’s the story. On Eminem’s new album “Relapse,” he mentions the singer by name in the song “Bagpipes for Baghdad.” “Mariah, whatever happened to us? Why did we have to break up?” the song goes. Later it says, “Nick Cannon better back the f*** up, I’m not playing, I want her back you punk!”
Nick Cannon, of course, is Mariah Carey’s current husband.
Well, Carey’s new song, “Obsessed” doesn’t go as far as mentioning the rapper by name but certainly seems to allude to him.
First it talks about drug use with lyrics like “It must be the weed, it must be the E, ‘Cause you be poppin’.” Then the chorus seems even more like a retort to Em’s song. “”Why are you so obsessed with me, Boy I wanna know, Lying that you’re sexing me, When everybody knows, It’s clear that you’re upset with me, Finally found a girl that you can’t impress, You’re delusional.”
Carey has gone on record saying that she was not talking about Eminem in the song (”I am NOT at any point in the video playing a specific person. I’m dressed as a “stalker”in 3 different ensembles” she posted on Twitter). But after watching the video…come on, Mariah fess up.
Carey is playing the nameless stalker in the video but that stalker is wearing muted hooded zip ups, much as Eminem has been known to wear, and is seen in a small room rapping. Even the way Carey hunches her shoulders screams of an impersonation of the Detroit rapper and Dr. Dre protege.
Whatever the truth of the matter is, it sure is fun to speculate and look at all the little jabs and stuff, right?
