President Obama is now being criticized for wearing mom jeans at the 2009 MLB All-Star game. In the beginning, Obama made headlines for “throwing like a girl” and now fashionistas around the country are claiming the jeans he wore that day looked like “mom jeans.” I wasn’t exactly sure what mom jeans were until I watched a highlight of an SNL parody. Apparently these jeans are worn above the waist with long front zippers and shirts tucked in.
Obama, who can’t seem to catch a break these days, is probably not too worried about the type of jeans he’s wearing. Up until recently, after all, he’s been praised for his sleek casual outfits and celebrity-esque appearance.
The fact that we are even talking about Obama’s jeans is probably the White House PR’s dream. For newspapers like the Washington Post and the Chicago Sun-Times to be reporting on this story, and not criticizing Obama’s politics, likely makes it easier for bills and laws to get passed without as much scrutiny.

just goes to show the real decline of "serious" journalism, when stories like this show up in the Washington Post, etc. I mean, really? I can understand fashion blogs, and the like. It's a fun story, blah, blah, blah. But when it's getting into serious papers, that's when it starts to get weird. my two cents

I think that the jeans are great.Why be a fashion statement in some peoples eyes. They must not have anything better to do than judge someone who is wearing a normal pair of jeans!

I think Obama looks cool in those jeans! I'd much rather see him in them then the booty choking, ankle suffocating skiiny jeans that all these young teenage boys are rocking! I don't need to see the outline of their whole package and see the boys panty lines!!!! VPL(visable panty line) is a very big no no boys. If you want to start dressing like girls you better know the secrets we have to look the way we do. Lets leave Obama alone...
