Mischa Barton could really, REALLY use her “O.C.” white knight Ryan to come save her now. Mischa Barton

The once It girl has been through the ringer for the past few years and it seems personal events might have come to a head. On Wednesday, authorities were called to Barton’s Los Angeles home because of an unnamed “medical issue.” The bigger news, however, was announced by Access Hollywood on Thursday night.

Reportedly, the Los Angeles Police Department is now holding Barton on a 5150, which is involuntarily psychiatric hold, and transferred her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A 5150 is when authorities can hold a person against their will if they “present a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder.” They then have the right to hold the person for 72 hours to make sure they are okay. This is the same statute that Britney Spears was held under in 2008.

Barton was scheduled to be in New York on Thursday for the World Premiere of her new movie, “Homecoming,” an independent horror movie in which she played a psycho ex-girlfriend who has violent plans where her former boyfriend comes back to town with a new girlfriend.

Here’s hoping Barton, who became an over night star on “The O.C.,” finds herself back on her feet again really soon.
